Bank of Israel Governor Stanley Fischer on Wednesday commented on the issue of oil and gas royalties, saying "Tamar should not be excluded."
Speaking at an economic conference in Tel Aviv, Fischer said: "The current situation in income distribution is inadequate and unacceptable. Whoever says we should exclude what we have already discovered is basically saying we won't get revenue for 30 years."
He added: "The work of the [Sheshinski] committee was professional. We must not let interests influence us through unconvincing arguments, dirty tactics, personal attacks, and inaccurate information."
