Four year-old drowns in flooding in southern Israel

A four-year-old boy was pronounced dead on Thursday afternoon after he drowned in floods caused by heavy rainfall in Israel's south, according to Sokora Hospital in Beersheba.
The boy drowned in a water reservoir near Kuseife and was given emergency first aid in the community of Ein Bokek near the Dead Sea.
The heavy rains began falling in the area of the Dead Sea and the Negev Desert on Tuesday night and continued to Thursday morning, causing major flooding. Major roadways have been closed until further notice.
