Gafni vows to bring water supervision vote to Knesset

Finance Committee chair Moshe Gafni told Israel Radio on Monday that he intends to bring to a vote next week a law regulating water supervision.

According to Gafni, water prices have unfairly skyrocketed, and these new higher prices do not encourage consumers to conserve. He accused the water authority of working outside the Knesset, and said that a separate budget must be developed to ensure water users pay less.

Meanwhile, the Water Authority head Oded Pikslar has confirmed that on July 1 the water tax will be changed for private consumers.
