Gasoline price to top NIS 8 by next week

The maximum price of full-service 95-octane gasoline will reach an unprecedented NIS 8.15 per liter on April 1, the Energy and Water Resources Ministry announced Thursday.
Gasoline was supposed to rise above NIS 8 on March 1 on the back of the shekel’s depreciation against the dollar and a spike in global oil prices. It was eventually set at NIS 7.95 after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu issued a last-minute order to reduce the fuel excise tax by 10 agorot.
