Greece: 4th arrest over synagogue burning on Crete

A fourth suspect, an American man, has been arrested in two arson attacks on a medieval synagogue on the island of Crete, Greek police said Monday.
A police statement said that the suspect, identified only as an English teacher, was arrested Monday in the seaside town of Hania, where the Etz Hayyim Synagogue was damaged in attacks earlier this month.
Police have also arrested a Greek and two British men and are seeking another US citizen, also an English teacher. The attacks destroyed books, archives and heirlooms.
Police have not said what the suspects' alleged motive was.
The Etz Hayyim Synagogue is the only one to survive on Crete, whose last Jewish community was wiped out during World War II.
