Hamas and Fatah face off in local West Bank elections

Over a million people cast their votes in the municipal elections in the West Bank, which started on Saturday morning.
Palestinians in the West Bank have not voted in elections alongside Palestinians from Gaza since 2006, when Hamas overtook Palestinian parliamentary polls in a move that almost led to a civil war in Gaza the following year.
Voters have 4,000 candidates to choose from in a vote that many say signifies the ongoing rift between Fatah and Hamas.
