Hamas says 120 members detained in W. Bank

West Bank security services have arrested 120 Hamas member since Wednesday, Ma'an News Agency quoted the Islamist group as saying Saturday.

On Tuesday, the Palestinian Authority arrested dozens of Hamas supporters, many of whom had just been released from Israeli prisons.

The crackdown followed accusations by PA officials in Ramallah that Hamas was the recent protests against the high cost of living in an attempt to topple the PA.

Palestinian Authority security services spokesman Adnan Dmeiri said Thursday the arrests not based on political affiliations, and were conducted legally, Ma'an reported.
