Hasson wants Knesset meet on state prosecution's 'misdeeds'

MK Yoel Hasson on Tuesday called for an emergency Knesset session on the state prosecution's handling of former prime minister Ehud Olmert's corruption cases. The Jerusalem District Court acquitted Olmert earlier Tuesday of the central corruption charges against him after a four-year-long trial that forced the sitting prime minister to resign his post.
"There is no doubt that a major injustice was committed against one of Israel's best prime ministers," Hasson said. "The prosecution must reevaluate its relevance in Israeli society after ejecting a prime minister from his post for no reason at all."
