Histadrut chair throws support behind housing protests

Histadrut chairman Ofer Eini pledged support Wednesday for protests taking place around the country against soaring rent prices.
Eini criticized Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's government for deciding to employ capitalistic measures to solve a social issue.
He expressed empathy with citizens of Israel who cannot "finish the month" on the salaries they earn, even those earning up to NIS 14-15,000.
Eini said the problem boils down to a question of government policy. He said rent demonstrators seek solutions that provide hope, and it is up to Netanyahu's Cabinet to provide this for the country's citizens.
