Holyland affair: Gag order on name of witness to stand

The Rishon Letzion Magistrate’s court rejected a petition by Yediot Aharonot to reveal the name of the state witness in the “Holyland affair.”
Judge Abraham Heiman said that despite the fact that the state has announced it would call in suspects, including former prime minister Ehud Olmert, for hearings in the Jerusalem corruption case, removing the gag order would put the witness and the investigation at risk.
The judge said he understood the public’s right and desire to know the identity of the accuser, but said that prior to the hearings it was premature to remove the publication ban.
