Hotovely: Human rights groups used ‘many times’ to channel funds to terrorists

Money contributed to human rights groups need to be under close supervision since “many times” these groups are used as funnels to fund terrorist groups, Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovely said on Tuesday.

Hotovely's comments came in the wake of the arrest announced by Israel of Waheed Borush, an engineer from Jabaliya working for the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). He was indicted on charges of using his position to assist Hamas in Gaza.

Hotovely said that Israel is demanding an immediate investigation into the incident to ensure that “an organization that is meant to work toward peace and quiet does not support a murderous terrorist organization.”
