IDF, Egypt army, drug smugglers exchange fire

The IDF, the Egyptian army and a group of Egyptian drug smugglers exchanged fire Wednesday morning ion the Israel-Egypt border in an incident which initially confused the parties involved, but ultimately led to no deaths.

The incident started when the Egyptian army spotted and opened fire on Egyptian drug smugglers trying to cross the border.

Some of the fire of the Egyptian soldiers accidentally hit an Israeli army bus on the Israeli side of the border.

At first, the IDF did not know who was shooting at them, and suspecting a terror attack, returned fire, injuring one person in the Egyptian security forces.
