A Border Police officer was attacked when an assailant armed with a serrated knife attempted to stab him near Hebron on Sunday, according to Israeli police.
The assailant is a 19-year-old resident of Hebron.
The officer was manning a checkpoint at HaOkfim Junction when he saw the assailant approaching him with one hand hidden behind his back.
The officer called for him to stop, but the assailant did not heed his instructions. The officer noticed the knife, and again called for him to stop. When his instructions were not followed, the officer drew his weapon and neutralized the assailant who was taken into custody.
The event ended with no injuries.
