Iran tightens security in advance of subsidy cuts

The Iranian government is employing heightened internal security measures in advance of food and energy subsidy cuts this month, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.
There are fears of resistance to these cuts, as they will result in rising expenses and inflation.
At a rally on Wednesday, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad warned that any businesses that raise prices in reaction to the cuts would be caught, and that they would "regret it forever."
