Iranian analyst: Nuke program "peaceful," Teheran wants dialogue

A senior Iranian analyst with close ties to the Islamic Republic's leadership rejected Israel's claims that the IAEA is hiding incriminating evidence on Teheran's military nuclear program, and said Jerusalem was engaging in psychological warfare in an effort to pressure the country to halt its nuclear efforts, Israel Radio reported on Sunday morning. In an interview from Teheran, Amir Mousavi, a strategic affairs analyst, told the station that Iran was prepared to hold talks with the West, but will demand that Israel's nuclear stockpile be put under international supervision. Mousavi reportedly stressed that the nuclear reactor in Bushehr is meant to serve only as a "peaceful" power plant, adding that within two months, Teheran will have 10,000 operating centrifuges.
