Israel will Broadcast Paralympic Games, PM tell athletes

Israel will broadcast the upcoming Paralympic Games from London later this month so the country can see the achievements of the Israeli delegation, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Tuesday at a reception for the Israeli team.
"For me you are already champions who have achieved great victories," he said. "In order that others may see it - we will broadcast the games."
Israel will send 25 athletes to the games for athletes with physical disabilities who will participate in nine different sports, including tennis, shooting, cycling, sailing and swimming.
Netanyahu, who this week had a cast removed from a leg injury, said that the experience – where it was difficult to get in and out of the shower or climb steps  -- made him appreciate even more what people with true disabilities face on a daily basis.
Culture and Sport Minister Limor Livnat said she viewed the Paralympic athletes as an integral part of Israeli sport. "You are doing amazing things, are worthy of admiration, and are role models," she said.
