Kadima MK calls for vote to delay Knesset summer recess

Kadima MK Shlomo Molla on Monday sent a letter to Knesset House Committee chairman Yariv Levin, calling on him to convene the committee for a discussion and vote on the request by several MKs from different factions to delay the Knesset's summer recess in light of ongoing social justice protests.
"The Knesset cannot be disconnected from the people and MKs cannot go on vacation at a time when the Israeli public is staging massive protests in the street," Molla said in a statement.
"The Knesset walls are not made of steel and all attempts to choke off the public discourse will fail. The State Committee chairman must cut off his obligations to the prime minister and his political troubles and allow a vote on the subject as soon as possible," he added.
