Khader Adnan returns from hospital to prison

Islamic Jihad member Khader Adnan, who held a 66-day hunger strike, will be transferred from Galilee Medical Center in Safed to prison on Tuesday, fulfilling a deal cut between the state and Adnan last month.
Adnan drew international attention protesting his administrative detention with his fast, was hospitalized and was near death, until ending his fast when the state committed to release him by April 17 presuming that no new significant evidence came to light.
Administrative detention involves a special judicial proceeding which sidesteps  regular court procedures and permits the state to hold a suspect in prison for an extended period.
It is reserved for cases where the state believes the suspect is involved in an impending terror attack or where the evidence against the suspect cannot be revealed due to its confidential nature.
