Lapid: 'It's not about Judaism, it's about English and math'

Blue and White MK Yair Lapid said that Judaism is a central part of his life, and Shas leader Arye Deri and UTJ leader Ya'acov Litzman can’t tell him to be Jewish.
He added that their dispute isn’t about Judaism. Rather, it’s about teaching English and math in their schools, about the economy and making a living – "why should our children support theirs?"
Regarding today's vote in the Knesset on the "cameras bill," Lapid said that he supports more transparency and even cameras – but only from the Central Elections Committee, not a political party.
In addition, Lapid said that the Jordan Valley will always belong to Israel, because it’s the country's security border. He then added that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's annexation announcement is simply an unsuccessful campaign stunt.
When asked if Blue and White MK Gabi Ashkenazi set a bad example by not going to a safe room when the sirens went off in Ashdod while he was giving a speech, Lapid answered that according to Ashkenazi, there wasn’t a shelter big enough for everyone and he didn’t want to leave when others weren’t safe.
