Liberman: No change in Iran goal to eventually obtain nukes

Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman in London on Tuesday night said that although sanctions have impacted Tehran's behavior in a tactical sense, they have not fundamentally changed its strategic goal of achieving nuclear weapons capability, Israel Radio reported.
Liberman echoed the view of many other Israeli officials who say Iran's goal in a possible deal with the West is to remove the pressure of sanctions in exchange for measures which will only delay its progress towards nuclear weapons, but not end its program.
Liberman made his comments during a meeting with British Foreign Secretary William Hague.
