Livni rejects idea that Lapid would fare better against PM

Opposition leader Tzipi Livni on Monday rejected polls suggesting that a party led by Yair Lapid would fare better than Kadima under her leadership in a general election.
Speaking to Channel 2, Livni stated that Kadima, under her leadership, is the only ticket that can realistically hope to unseat Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
The Kadima leader reiterated that she sees Lapid's entry into politics as a welcome step and referred to him as a "partner," not a rival.
Livni rejected the possibility that any of her rivals, such as Shaul Mofaz, could win the leadership of Kadima from her in primaries, saying she was the person who would lead "the unrepresented, frustrated public."
