Opposition leader Tzipi Livni met on Wednesday with French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner in Jerusalem, and stressed that construction in Gilo need not be halted.
"Gilo is part of the Israeli consensus, and that understanding is important for every discussion on the final borders of any future agreement," she told him.
The two also discussed Iran's nuclear aspirations, and Livni called on the world to take decisive action.
"It is time for harsh sanctions on Iran. The international community should be clear about it. Every dialogue should have a time framework," said Livni.
After meeting with Livni, Kouchner met with the parents of captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit, who is also a French citizen.
The soldier's mother, Aviva, said she did not receive any new information at the meeting.
