Meeting between Porush, Beinisch 'not on Emmanuel school'

Deputy Education Minister Meir Porush (United Torah Judaism) met on Thursday with Supreme Court Chief Justice Dorit Beinisch. According to the Supreme Court spokeswoman, the two did not discuss the recent court ruling on the segregated school in Emmanuel, as discussions on pending legal procedures are prohibited to justices. The spokeswoman could not say what the two spoke about.
The High Court of Justice ruled last week that an independent educational center operating haredi schools was in contempt of court, after one of the schools operated by it, the Beit Ya’acov Girls’ School in Emmanuel, failed to implement a prior court ruling ordering it to stop discriminatory practices against Sephardi students.
The decision also set a NIS 5,000 fine for every day the school continues to avoid following the court’s ruling beginning this Sunday.
