Meretz condemns PM for authorizing new WB construction

Meretz leader Zehava Gal-On on Thursday condemned Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu for agreeing to the construction of 851 homes in the West Bank.
Netanyahu authorized the construction in Beit El, Geva Binyamin, Ariel, Efrat, Kiryat Arba and Ma'aleh Adumim after he blocked passage of legislation designed to save unauthorized settler homes from demolition. The High Court of Justice ordered outposts, including Ulpana, evacuated by the end of June.
"Prime Minister Netanyahu gets a score of zero for leadership as he tries to implement a 'price tag' policy in response to the High Court decision," Gal-On said. "As if the price we pay for the occupation isn't high enough, Netanyahu has now turned the issue into a weight around the necks of the middle class, who must now pay taxes in order to finance these construction projects.
