Meretz goes to the polls to elect party list

Meretz elected the 10 members of its list for the 19th Knesset in the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds on Sunday.
MKs Ilan Gilon and Nitzan Horowitz were expected to get the second and third spots on the list, with the primary race heating up for those that follow, especially the fourth, which could realistically get into the Knesset according to polls and is saved for a woman.
The 10 potential MKs were elected out of a group of 17 candidates by 1,000 Meretz Central Committee members for the party that currently has three Knesset seats.
Meretz also guaranteed gender equality in the top six spots on their list, in which the fourth and sixth are saved for a woman in addition to party leader Zehava Gal-On.
