Muslim group: US teen not allowed to leave Kuwait

WASHINGTON — A Muslim rights group on Sunday said a US teenager held in Kuwait was not allowed to board a flight back to the United States.
An attorney for the Council on American-Islamic Relations that 19-year-old Gulet Mohamed's brother bought him a plane ticket home at the request of a Kuwaiti deportation official, but that he was not allowed to board the plane after being taken to the airport.
CAIR attorney Gadeir Abbas said the teenager is on a no-fly list and the group plans to file a federal court challenge claiming the United States is wrongly blocking the return of a US citizen.
