Nahari to return to Knesset after Shas MK Guetta’s resignation

Deputy Interior Minister Meshulam Nahari plans to resign from his post and return to the Knesset, Shas announced Tuesday.
Nahari will replace MK Yigal Guetta, who stepped down from the Knesset on Sunday after his mentioning that he attended his nephew’s wedding to another man in a radio interview sparked an uproar among Shas-affiliated rabbis.
Guetta's resignation went into effect Tuesday morning. Nahari was an MK from 1999 until 2016, when he resigned as part of the “Mini-Norwegian Law,” that allows ministers or deputy ministers to resign from and later return to the legislature.
