National Infrastructure Ministry changes name

The National Infrastructure Ministry has changed its name to the Energy and Water Ministry, after a report from the Government Publications Bureau indicated that the current name had an unclear meaning, a statement from the ministry said. The name-change is designed to provide an adequate expression of the ministry’s duties and the essence of its operations, which predominantly include the governance of the energy, water, natural resource and infrastructure markets, according to the ministry.
In the past, the office had at one point been called Energy Ministry, but the name was changed to the National Infrastructure Ministry when the office’s responsibilities became dominated by the transportation and the Israel Lands Administration issues.
