Netanyahu: No agreement exists on land swaps issue

Israel has not reached agreement with the Palestinians on the issue of land swaps, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said Sunday in reaction to comments made Saturday by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.
“Until now, we can’t say that there has or hasn’t been any progress [in the talks],” Abbas had told reporters in Ramallah. “But we hope that matters will move in the right direction, and that we will reach agreement on the borders and security within the next four months.”
Speaking at a meeting of Likud ministers, Netanyahu stated US Middle East envoy George Mitchell had yet to approach the Israeli government with a Palestinian land swap proposal.
