N.Korea announcement opens door to six-party talks

WASHINGTON - North Korea's announcement that it will stop nuclear tests, uranium enrichment and long-range missile launches "unlocks the door" to the eventual resumption of wider talks on ending its nuclear programs, a US official said on Wednesday.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said it was up to North Korea to contact the International Atomic Energy Agency to discuss the next steps regarding its promise to allow inspectors from the UN nuclear watchdog to visit its Yongbyon nuclear complex to verify that the moratorium is carried out.
