US President Barack Obama was briefed on early reports on the botched Christmas Day airline terror attack and said he that he would "meet personally" next week with officials involved in a review of what went wrong. Obama on Thursday said he spoke with his homeland security and counterterrorism adviser John Brennan to hear an update on a preliminary assessment about what allowed a 23-year-old Nigerian with suspected terrorist links to board a Detroit-bound airplane. Officials say the suspect attempted to destroy the plane as it landed in the United States. Obama ordered a review of intelligence and travel policies after the events. Obama said he also spoke with Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to hear about her agency's review.
