Obama: Transition negotiations in Egypt 'making progress'

WASHINGTON — US President Barack Obama says Egypt is "making progress" toward a path forward out of the political crisis enveloping the country.
Obama didn't elaborate Monday in response to a reporter's question on the talks taking place, where Egyptian Vice President Omar Suleiman met several major opposition groups for the first time Sunday.
Obama was asked about the situation in Egypt after speaking to the Chamber of Commerce. He replied, "Obviously Egypt has to negotiate a path, and I think they're making progress."
