PM Netanyahu: Likud will continue to rule

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Monday night predicted that his Likud party would continue to rule because Israel needs an experienced, responsible government to protect the country's security and economy, following the conclusion of Likud's primary.
"Today it was proven once again that the Likud is the party of the nation," Netanyahu proclaimed, saying the Likud has "an experienced and talented list" and that the party is "strong, energetic, and full of pizzazz."
Netanyahu also reached out to his confidants Ministers Benny Begin and Dan Meridor, who did not make Likud's list, saying that he would "maintain our values in next government, and I want you by my side."
He did not say whether he planned to appoint Begin and Meridor as ministers in the next government, should he retain his premiership, or whether perhaps they would run on the Yisrael Beytenu ticket.
