Police recommend indicting Olmert over alleged political appointments
By JPOST.COM STAFF
Police on Monday recommended that former prime minister Ehud Olmert be indicted over allegations that he made political appointments in the Authority for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses during his term as minister of industry, trade and labor.
Olmert is suspected of having changed the rules at the authority to hire a woman with whom he had close political ties as deputy director-general. She, in turn, allegedly appointed at least three new project managers who were members of the Likud central committee while employing improper procedures and without giving others a fair chance at the job.
