Ramon: What could go wrong with a 2-month extension?

Former MK and Kadima Council Chair Haim Ramon said that "we didn't demand the Jordanians or the Egyptians" recognize us as a Jewish state when we made peace with them, in an interview Tuesday with Israel Radio. The statement was made in response to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's demand that the Palestinians recognize Israel as a Jewish state in exchange for extending the expired West Bank construction freeze.
Ramon went on to say that the creation of a Palestinian state is in Israel's interests. Referring to the US request for an extension of the freeze, he said, "the US is asking us for two months, what's bad about two months, what could go wrong?"
