Remand extended for father suspected of shaking twin babies

The Tel Aviv Magistrates' Court on Monday extended the remand of a father suspected of abusing his twin baby children by three days. The mother was released to house arrest until Sunday.

Police suspect both parents of shaking the babies, while the parents deny having harmed them.

One of the twins passed away Sunday as a result of internal injuries. A postmortem is scheduled to be performed on the baby's body, a Tel Aviv police spokesperson said Sunday. The second twin is out of danger and recuperating, according to doctors.
