Report: 2 Israeli fertility doctors released from detention in Romania

Two Israeli fertility doctors were released from detention in Romania on Wednesday night, according to a Channel 2 report. A final decision in the case was expected later Wednesday. Prof. Nathan Levitt and Dr. Genya Ziskind were among the 30 people arrested in Bucharest last week on suspicion of paying Romanian women for donating their eggs to the Israel-owned Sabyc fertility clinic, some of whom, according to local media, were 15-year-old girls. After bail was posted, the two were among the 28 released from custody, but were banned from leaving Romania. The two were rearrested on Tuesday night after allegedly trying to leave the country and obstruct the investigation.
