Report: Iran collected intelligence on Israel from Syria

Iran established a signals intelligence station in Syria meant to supply information on Israel to Hezbollah, the World Tribune reported on Sunday.

According to the World Tribune, a report by the US Defense Department stated that two Iranian-Syrian signals intelligence stations funded by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) were reportedly active since 2006.

One station is located in the Al Jazirah region in northern Syria and the other on the Syrian Golan Heights, according to the report issued last month.

The report also stated that IRGC was planned to establish additional listening stations in northern Syria.
