Report: PID weighing Bar-Lev compensation offer

The Justice Ministry's Police Investigations Department is weighing a proposed agreement with the former southern police chief which would avoid his indictment in connection with a sexual harassment complaint, Channel 2 reported on Thursday night.
It was not immediately possible to confirm the report.
Cmdr. Uri Bar Lev, who has been accused by former Public Security Ministry employee Dr. Orly Innes of harassment, and who has firmly denied the allegation, may pay compensation to Innes, apologize to her, and avoid an indictment, according to the proposed agreement.
Hebrew media reports said the PID was reluctant to accept the proposal.
Last December, the PID said there was enough evidence to indict Bar-Lev on the Innes case, but said insufficient evidence existed to back up allegations of a second woman against Bar-Lev.
