The British embassy in Tehran has been temporarily closed, Politico reported on Wednesday.
Politico cited a government spokesperson saying: "We have temporarily closed the British Embassy in Tehran, this will now operate remotely. Foreign Office travel advice has now been updated to reflect this consular change."
Earlier on Wednesday, pro-regime activists held a protest outside the embassy, burning Israeli and US flags.
The protesters also held banners reading slogans including "Britain's crimes cannot be forgotten."
Another protester held a banner with a picture of US President Donald Trump following the failed assassination attempt on July 13, with the caption "The Arrow doesn't always miss."
