Report: Pri Galil layoffs to go into effect within hours

The layoffs of 55 workers at the Pri Galil fruit packing factory in Hatzor Haglilit were expected to go into effect Tuesday morning, in what may be the end of a months-long battle by workers to retain their jobs, Army Radio reported.
The layoffs were first announced in early August but due to a court battle and protests, were not put into effect until now.
The Histadrut labor federation argued last week that the layoffs were not legal, Army Radio reported. A strike in the factory was planned for Tuesday afternoon.
