A deal to free captured IDF soldier Gilad Schalit will be implemented next week, according to a Thursday report in A-Sharq Al-Awsat.
According to the London-based paper, Tanzim-Fatah leader Marwan Barghouti and Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine leader Ahmad Sa'adat will be released as part of the deal.
Also slated for release, according to A-Sharq Al-Awsat, is Ibrahim Hamad, who perpetrated a 2004 terror attack in Gaza where a pregnant mother and her four daughters were shot dead. Hamad will reportedly be released on the condition that he is deported to Syria.
Sources quoted by the paper said that 1,150 security prisoners will be released in three stages as part of the deal. First, Schalit will be transferred to Egypt and 450 prisoners will be released, after which Schalit will be transferred to Israel, and the remainder of the Palestinian prisoners will be released.
