Residential noise reduction regulations approved

The Knesset Internal Affairs and Environment Committee approved this week the Environmental Protection Ministry-initiated regulations to reduce noise in residential areas.
Leaf blowers, renovations, road work, car alarms, fireworks, and loud music after 11 p.m. have now all been prohibited during most hours of the day in residential neighborhoods. The new regulations are designed to be more enforceable and give residents a quieter environment.
People who already own cars with alarms will have to disable the beeping within six years.
