Iran's Revolutionary Guard may have planned and carried out the operation in which five British men were kidnapped in Baghdad in 2007, the UK Guardian reported overnight Wednesday. The newspaper quoted one of the kidnappers as saying that three of the captured British citizens were killed after the UK government refused to pay a ransom. According to the report, another of the captured men was freed in return for the release of a young Shi'ite cleric associated with the Revolutionary Guard's foreign branch, the Al-Quds Force.
