Shalom: Palestinian unity 'blocks the way for direct talks'

Vice Premier Silvan Shalom said Thursday that "a demonstration of Palestinian unity" blocks the way for direct talks with the Palestinians.
"It is impossible to talk with a government that is made up of those that want to destroy Israel," Shalom said.
"We will not talk to a government that won't formally recognize the State of Israel, renounce terror or recognize previous agreements, all conditions that the international community put in place," he added.
