State turns down Ramon's request for external investigation

Despite a report by the State Comptroller Thursday criticizing the state's handling of former minister Haim Ramon's 'kiss case,' Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein turned down Ramon's request for an external investigation of the case.
Ramon's request came after State Comptroller Micha Lindenstrauss issued a report Thursday which found negligence in the state's handling of the case.
Ramon's request was rejected despite Weinstein's inability to pursue the investigation, stemming from a conflict of interest agreement he signed before his appointment as attorney-general.
Instead, the state comptroller's findings and Ramon's file will be passed along to the deputy attorney-general to continue the investigation of the state's handling of the case.
