Steinitz in India in effort to increase trade, ties

Finance Minister Yuval Steinitz began a working trip to India Monday where he will hold talks on increasing Israeli exports to the country against the backdrop of decreasing demand in Europe and the United States.
A free trade agreement was also scheduled to be discussed during the visit, the Treasury said.
Steinitz intends to advance a plan to bring 100 post-doctoral students from India and China to Israel in order help build and increase economic ties between the countries in the long term.
The trip to India was the first by an Israeli finance minister to in 15 years.
