Steinitz on Schabas resignation: Human Rights Council wanted to judge Israel in a 'Kangaroo' Court

Speaking on the recent departure of William Schabas from the UN Human Rights Council, Yuval Steinitz released a statement asserting that in light of the resignation, the council's findings up until this point are effectively void.

The Strategic Affairs minster added that Schabas' departure also "leaves a stain on the unfair behavior of the United Nation's Human Rights Council towards Israel."

"The Schabas committee was inherently flawed since it wanted to judge Israel in a kangaroo court, in a fashion that no other Democracy would be judged," Steinitz added.
