Supreme Court: No remand hearings without terror suspects

The Supreme Court on Thursday annulled a clause in criminal law that allows a remand extension hearing to go ahead in a terror offense case even without the suspect being present.
A nine-justice panel ruled that the right of the accused to attend his/her hearing was an essential component of fair criminal proceedings.
