Tent protest leaders formulate list of demands

Representatives of various groups actively participating in Tel Aviv's social justice demonstrations met on Tuesday at Tel Aviv University and formulated a list of eight demands entitled "Parameters For a New Socio-economic Agenda."
The protest leaders asked for a reduction in regressive taxes, such as sales tax, a reinvestment of tax revenues in programs for citizens, a cancellation of the national housing committee law, an increase in the aid budget for the Housing and Construction Ministry, free education from three months old onward, an improvement in the health infrastructure including more hospital beds, curbing the privatization of social services and mental health services and a promise by the government to gradually cancel construction work in the public sector.
